Care Standards Policy
This policy outlines the care standards that Joyful Care expects from all care providers using its platform. By adhering to these standards, we ensure that service users introduced through Joyful Care receive care that prioritizes their comfort, safety, and dignity.
The Standards We Expect
Carers using the Joyful Care platform are expected to deliver care that is professional, punctual, safe, compassionate, well-communicated, and diligent. Carers are expected to meet these standards by:
- Following the law: Carers must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Care Standards Act 2006, the Care Act 2015, the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006, and the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
- Acting with honesty and integrity: Carers should always be truthful, open, and trustworthy, avoiding any form of deception or negligence.
- Recognizing their competencies: Carers should not accept tasks beyond their skills or qualifications and are encouraged to seek ongoing professional development. When using substitutes, carers must ensure they meet the required standards and competencies.
- Respecting contractual terms: Joyful Care acts as an introductory agency and is not a party to care contracts. Carers must uphold the terms of their contract with clients and use the Joyful Care template contract to ensure a fair agreement.
- Adhering to our Safeguarding Policy: Carers must comply with Joyful Care’s Safeguarding Policy, available at https://joyfulcares.co.uk/safeguarding-policy
Protecting Our Clients and Service Users
Joyful Care enforces rigorous standards to protect service users and clients from unnecessary risks. Applicants will not be accepted if they or household members:
- Have been involved in any form of complaint, arrest, investigation, legal action, or accusations related to violence, abuse, neglect, theft, fraud, dishonesty, drugs, or endangering others.
- Are listed on the sex offenders’ register or any equivalent registry.
All carers must present a clean Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate issued within the past year.
Complaints
Though complaints are rare due to our high standards, carers are required to cooperate with our Complaints Policy (available at https://joyfulcares.co.uk/complaints-policy). Carers must demonstrate honesty and integrity during the complaints process. Joyful Care handles all complaints fairly and compassionately.
Striving for Improvement
Joyful Care regularly reviews its policies and standards to improve the quality of care provided. Feedback is welcomed and can be sent to hello@joyfulcares.co.uk.
