As such, we facilitate connections between clients and Carers through our platform, distinguishing ourselves from employment agencies. It’s important to note that we do not have the authority to modify clients’ care plans, arrange schedules, or influence the delivery of care services.

Carer Selection and Vetting Process: At Joyful Care, we prioritize the thorough vetting of Carers to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our clients. Our vetting process includes visual verification of:
- Verification of passports or other suitable photographic ID to confirm identity and the
- Confirmation of stated qualifications and training certificates, where
- Validation of existing DBS checks.
For Carers unable to provide visual confirmation of a DBS check within the last 6 months, Joyful Care conducts DBS checks through an external provider. The associated cost is covered by the Carer.
Despite conducting face-to-face interviews with every Carer, it’s important to note that Joyful Care is not responsible for, and lacks control over, the quality, timing, legality, reliability, responsibility, integrity, or suitability of the Carers listed on our website.
We strongly advise clients to perform their own assessment of a Carer’s suitability before entering into a contract. This can be achieved by:

- Request and verify photographic ID to confirm the Carer’s
- Ask for proof of experience, training, qualifications, authorizations, and suitability for the specific

In the client and Carer relationship:

Dispute Resolution Process
Overview: Joyful Care provides a dispute resolution process to manage disagreements between clients and self-employed Carers. Either party can dispute a contract, and Joyful Care should be informed of the need for arbitration within 24 hours of the relevant event. Joyful Care will examine the contract, compliance with terms, user data analytics (e.g., visit logging, messaging, geoverification), user feedback, and previous Carer behavior. Joyful Care reserves the right to defer payment, reimburse, or cease contractual payments at its sole discretion.
Release of Liability for User Conduct and Disputes: Agreements between clients and Carers are legally binding and exist independently. Joyful Care is not party to such agreements and cannot mediate or arbitrate unless the dispute resolution process is activated. Joyful Care does not accept liability for claims, demands, or damages arising from disputes between clients and Carers.
Disputed Funds: Unpaid monies for a contract are held in an escrow account, and Joyful Care offers no guarantee of reimbursement or full payment if the dispute resolution policy is activated. Joyful Care strives to reach an equitable outcome based on available evidence.
Payments, Cancellations, and Refunds
Payments: Contracts for work are made directly between the client and the Carer. Clients entering a contract agree to have the funds available for the contract value. If a client is unavailable to release funds for completed work, Joyful Care will release funds on the client’s behalf after reasonable efforts to contact the client.
Refunds: Joyful Care does not usually provide refunds or credits for purchase cancellations. Exceptions may be issued at Joyful Care’s discretion.
Cancellations: Carers have the right to terminate a contract when necessary. Short-term hires should ideally not be canceled without exceptional circumstances. Regular hires can be canceled with a 14- day notice period. Joyful Care strongly discourages cancellations without adequate warning or reason.
